The Smallest Mr Olympia Participant

Hi, guys.
Nature of bodybuilding today with you and
in this blogI want to talk to you about
the smallest participant of Mr Olympia contest.
Well, in one of my previous blogs about all
of the Mr Olympia winners from 1965 to 2018,
I mentioned about the smallest winner of Mr
Olympia and this is Franco Columbu

Franco Columbu.

Standing at a height of 166 cm or 5’5’’
and with the weight 84 kg or 185 lb, he has
been the shortest and the lowest in weight
competitor.
However, this is just the figures and it is
difficult for me to call him small.
If we just take into account his proportions,
considering his density of muscles, he wasn’t
that small and even more, he was bulky, I
think, which enabled him to beat other bigger
guys.
Anyway, considering correlation between height
and weight, the other 3 time Mr Olympia winner,
Frank Zane has been the smallest winner.

Frank Zane

His weight was just 84 kg or 185 lb at a height
of 176 cm or 5’9’’ when he won the titles.
However, I can’t dare to call him the smallest
as I think that he was the leanest and the
most aesthetic winner.
The most impressive part is that having the
minimum possible weight with his height, he
managed to win Mr Olympia title for 3 times
beating more bulky guys.
The bottom line is that it is incredible to
see when a smaller guy beats a bigger one
and I think that this is something worthy.
It is I think a real achievement to have just
few resources possible with the lowest weigh
and create an illusion of been so muscular.
Off-course, we can have a dispute and talk
also about the bone structure but this is
the other case and in our case this is peripheral.
So, these two small guys are winners of Mr
Olympia.
And the question is who has been the smallest
competitor among all of the participants.
The answer is Marvin Ward.

Marvin Ward

Standing at a height of 157 cm or 5’2’’
his competing weight is only 65 kg or 143
lb.
The most impressive part that even with his
relatively low weight and height, his form
is incredible.
In addition, despite being the smallest competitor,
he got good places.
For instance, he was the 1st in 2008 NPC Nationals
in the light weight division, the 3rd in 2011
New-York Pro in 202 division, the 10th in
2011 Mr Olympia in 202 category, the 7th in
2014 NY Pro in 212 division and the 2nd in
212 class at 2014 Tampa Pro.
By the way, Marvin Ward was born in 1971,
so now he is 47 and, I think that he looks
great for his age.
For instance, look at him performing on the
stage in 2014 NY Pro bodybuilding show.
He is extremely shredded and well-proportioned
and he’s got incredible biceps.
Well, I’ve found very few blogs about Marvin
Ward on the internet and I don’t know anything
about his bodybuilding career since 2014.
Judging by the interviews with Dave Palumbo
and Bob Chicorello, Marvin had been in the
severe car accident before 2014 Tampa Pro.
For that reason, he had to reduce his weight
training and focus generally on cardio.
But even with these limits, he managed to
be the 2nd at that contest.
So, guys, if you know more about this athlete,
